Raman imaging of DWNT ropes

Raman images excited by a 632.8 nm laser, consisting of many Raman spectra recorded in a step of 0.5 m along the directions parallel to the double walled carbon nanotube(DWNT) rope axis, which was used here to probe the diameter distribution of the DWNT ropes. The ordinate unit is m and the vertical color bar represents the intensity of Raman spectra. It was noted that two narrow regions appeared in the RBM region with Raman shift < 20 cm-1 deviation from the center (138 cm-1 and 221 cm-1), corresponding to the outer and inner diameter distribution width smaller than 0.30 nm, in good agreement with the statistic data from HRTEM observations.
