Flexibility assured with the XGT Systems

From Micro Measurements to Macro Measurements

From Micro Measurements to Macro MeasurementsThe XGT-5000 or XGT-7000 can be configured with two beam sizes (for example, 10 µm and 100 mm), allowing both micro and macro point analysis.

The range of measurable sample area extends from a minimum diameter of 10 µm to a maximum area of 10 cm x10 cm, making the XGT systems compatible with a wide range of sample sizes. This flexible system covers everything from macro analysis, for a general survey of a wide area, to the inspection of a specific micro area.

Range of Acquisition Functions - Single Point, Multi-Point, Mapped Images

Fluorescence X-ray Element AnalysisMacro and micro areas can be quickly analyzed, whether by single point, multi-point or automated XY mapping. Additional information on sample structure, and location of regions of interest is enhanced with the transmission x-ray mapped imaging capability.

Internal Analysis and Foreign Material Analysis

Unlike an electron beam used in SEM/EDX instruments, the irradiated X-Rays penetrate deep within the sample, providing transmitted images and also making it possible to obtain information about the elements inside the sample. Thus, elemental analysis of inclusions and encased features (for example, electronics within moulded plastic case) is now possible.

Analysis at Normal Atmospheric Pressure

Analysis of Samples Containing WaterWith HORIBA's original vacuum probe, analysis is performed at normal atmospheric pressure. As a result, samples containing water, even plant and animal tissue, can be measured and analyzed, without any pre-processing.

There is no damage to the sample, making the XGT systems well suited for medical and biological applications as well.
